The mechanisms of intercellular trafficking are at the very core of basic research in medical and biological sciences. The intention of this workshop was to improve understanding of these, as well as to provide insight into technical aspects of how to study them, among various members of Rijeka’s biomedical research community. There was special emphasis on understanding the process of endocytosis, as well as the role of this process in physiology. A large chunk of the workshop was carried out through practical work, making it our most hands-on effort in the project thus far. This, we believe, greatly added to the improvement of medical research capacities
in Rijeka, which is at the centre of all our efforts within the project.
